EXCHANGE & RETURN POLICY

 

OUR POLICY:

Exchanges and returns can be completed if the item is UNWORN, UNALTERED, and UNWASHED with ALL tags attached.  Shoes must be returned with no signs of wear, in their original, undamaged boxes.  Lingerie and swimwear unfortunately cannot be exchanged or returned due to hygienic reasons.  Reduced priced items are processed as final sales and cannot be exchanged or returned.  Vintage pieces can be processed for exchange only.  No refunds are allowed on our vintage collection.

 

An order placed using a promotional code is not eligible for a return for refund, only for exchange or store credit.  Orders with promotional codes are not eligible for free shipping of returns/exchanges.  Some discount codes are applied as final sales and make the merchandise non-exchangeable and not eligible for store credit.  These restrictions will be noted with the individual discount code.

 

We strongly advise that the customer fully inspect their order before removing any tags or discarding any original packaging.  To ensure the quality of our items, Chickdowntown.com cannot accept returns of items which do not have all original tags attached.  Customers will not receive credit (either in full refund or in store credit) to their account if items are returned with any original tags missing.  Exchanges may not be accepted if all original tags are not attached.  This applies to our Vintage Collection as well.  No returns or exchanges can be processed at our Liberty Ave storefront.

 

If a customer receives an order without a packing slip or an item without a tag, we ask that you please email chickreturns@chickdowntown.comimmediately.  This will ensure proper processing of an item if a return is to be made.

 

If you receive a faulty item, please notify us within 24 hours of receiving the item.

CERTIFIED RETURN (CR) NUMBER:

All exchanges and returns must have a Certified Return (CR) number.  Obtaining a CR number and displaying it prominently on your return or exchange will facilitate the processing of your return.  Failure to obtain a CR number will result in store credit, if the item is in the condition stated above and with all tags attached.  Returns will be sent back to the customer if items are returned without all tags or if sale items are returned. Obtaining this number can be done via our website, through email, or phone call.  Please see below.

TIME ALLOWANCES:

Refund requests must be made within 10 days of original shipment date.

Exchange requests must be made within 21 days of original shipment date.

Once the CR number is issued, item(s) must be postmarked within 3 business days.

If requests are made after these times, return/exchange requests will be denied.

 

SHIPPING AND HANDLING CHARGES:

- For international orders, the customer is responsible for all additional duties and customs charges, levied when the parcel reaches the destination country.  If a package is refused delivery by the customer, the cost of returning the package back to Chickdowntown.com will be deducted from the refund amount.

- Applicable ONLY to domestic United States orders placed WITHOUT discount code:  If you wish to exchange your item, Chickdowntown.com will cover the cost of shipping your item back to us.  A prepaid UPS shipping label will be emailed to the customer for exchange parcels.  Simply use this exchange postage label when sending your item back to us, at no extra charge!  Please note this is not available for orders placed using a discount code or for international and non-domestic U.S. shipments.

- Please note that this emailed, prepaid UPS shipping label is for exchanges only.  If a return (for refund) is received with this label, an $8 U.S. domestic fee will be applied to the customer’s account for shipping costs.

- Rerouting a package to a different shipping address will result in an $8 charge to the customer’s account.

 

HOW TO MAKE A RETURN:

- All refunds must have a Certified Return (CR) number.

- If you have created an account with us, you can login into your Chickdowntown.com account from our homepage to access a CR number and to return your item.

- After receiving a CR number, print a return slip. 

- If you have not created an account with us, you can email or call us to obtain a CR number.

- For your convenience, we can email you a UPS shipping label to return your item at a cost of $8.  Please email us at chickreturns@chickdowntown.com to purchase this shipping label.

- Please write the CR number on the box.  Securely pack and seal the item(s) you wish to return.  Address the return to the above address or use the provided return sticker.  Use an insured service to return the package, as we cannot guarantee delivery of items we do not ship.

- Items received in a degraded condition than how they were shipped (i.e. wet, wrinkled, balled up, etc.) may be subject to store credit and not eligible for full refund.

Please note that shipping and handling charges are not refunded.

 

 HOW TO MAKE AN EXCHANGE:

- All exchanges must have a Certified Return (CR) number.

- Please email chickreturns@chickdowntown.comto obtain a CR number for an exchange.  Please specify the item you would like in exchange for the item you are returning to us so we can check the availability of your item.

- You will receive a CR number for your exchange via email.  Please write this on the box and/or the Return Slip.

- You will receive an email from UPS within 24 hours containing a prepaid UPS shipping label to mail your item back to us.

- Please write the CR number on the box.  Securely pack and seal the item(s) you wish to exchange. 

- To mail your exchange, simply use the UPS exchange shipping label.  You do not need to pay for the shipping costs for mailing the exchange back to us.

- The new item will ship once we have processed your exchanged item.  Once a return is processed as an exchange, the return is not eligible for a refund.

 

REFUNDS:

Refunds will be issued to the original purchaser’s credit card, excluding shipping costs (with the exception of faulty items).  All returns must be quality-inspected by the returns department.  Refunds are issued within 21 days of this inspection.  Refunds cannot be issued for items ordered using a promotional discount code.  Refunds cannot be issued for returns on our Vintage Collection.  Once an exchange is made, the item cannot be returned for a refund.

 

PROCESSING RETURNS AND EXCHANGES:

Returns are processed only after we receive and quality-inspect the returned item.  The customer’s account will be credited within 21 days of this inspection.  Items must not be damaged and have all original tags still attached.

 

All exchanges must be quality-inspected by our returns department.  Items for exchange will be processed within 10 days of this inspection.  Items must not be damaged and have all original tags still attached.  Once an item for exchange is processed, the new item will ship to the customer within 2 business days.

 

Please allow 2-3 extra days to process returns and exchanges of over-the-phone orders.

 

GIFT RETURNS:

If you have received an item as a gift, you may exchange it for store credit only.  If you wish to return a gift item, email chickreturns@chickdowntown.comand specify that the item was a gift.  Follow the above directions for obtaining a CR number and returning your item.  You will receive a gift code via email for the amount of your return.  Store credit is valid for one year.  At your next purchase, enter this gift code upon checkout, and this amount will be deducted from your total.

Gift cards/gift certificates cannot be redeemed for cash at any time.  These are always a final sale.

 

FOOTWEAR:

Shoes must be returned in their original, undamaged shoebox as this is considered part of the product.  Shoeboxes cannot have postal labels.  Shoes that are returned without boxes or in damaged boxes will not be accepted and will be sent back to the customer.  We recommend trying shoes on indoors, on a carpeted surface.  If shoes show any signs of wear, we cannot accept their return.

 

SWIMWEAR AND LINGERIE:

We cannot accept exchanges or returns on these items due to hygienic concerns.

 

VINTAGE COLLECTION:

Items from our Vintage Collection are returnable only for exchange or store credit.  These items cannot be processed for a full refund.

 

FAULTY GOODS:

Items are classified as faulty if they are received damaged.  Please note that items which are damaged as a result of wear and tear are not considered to be faulty.

If you receive a faulty item, please notify us within 24 hours of receiving the item.

Faulty items can be exchanged for items of the same style and same size, subject to availability.  E-mail chickreturns@chickdowntown.com to inquire about the availability of the item.

 

CONDITION OF ITEMS RETURNED OR EXCHANGED:

- Items should be sent in their original packaging to ensure they are adequately protected in transit.  Shoeboxes must be protected as they are considered part of the product and your return will not be accepted if the box is damaged or has postal labels.

- If returned items are not received in the same or similar condition that they were received in, request for refund or exchange may be denied.

 

PRICE ADJUSTMENTS:

We cannot extend promotional codes to orders placed before the promotional code is announced.  We cannot do price adjustments for promotional codes or for recently added sale merchandise.  We will not price match with other clothing retailers.
